Saw my therapist today and caught her up on all the stuff that's been going on with me. We talked about something that's been.

I have a couple of friends with whom I have not talked since I was forced to resign from my job (they are both former co-workers). It is mostly about shame... I have felt so down on myself that I didn't want to talk with these friends because I would have to hear about my former workplace and would have to explain what happened that caused me to leave. It's painful and embarrassing to talk about it.

And growing up as a military brat, I got used to moving on. I think I've applied that old thinking to these relationships. Well, I f*cked up in that place, so I'll just turn the page and move on.

So I'm thinking about calling these friends up and renewing our relationships.

I'd like to hear what my sober and serene blog buds think.

Thanks for listening - JO

I don't know if I qualify as a "blog bud" since I am new to reading you....and enjoying it thoroughly, but, I am big on closure. I need my loose ends tied up before I can move on and really be at peace. Sometims that isn't easy, but for me, it is worth the effort. Even when things don't work out the way I would like them to, I can at least walk away knowing I tried and I was honest. For me that is huge.

If you feel like you would grow from those relationships, then by all means go for it.

I think it depends on motives always, I have to check mine all the time...I understand about moving on a lot and it's easy, but if these are relationships that are important to you then work with your sponsor and therapist and always err on the side of love!

One thing I have learned is I don't have to explain anything to anyone. It can be awkward as people expect those explanations and when they are not given there is silence. If they are your friends swallow your pride call and see how THEY are doing. Keep the conversation on what is new with them and if you don't want to talk about what happened, don't. You don't have to share everything with everyone.

Tooo much advice? Maybe~ Find your way Jubilant. Ask for guidance and trust it will all be OTAY!

Have a great weekend~
